Reese Witherspoon Has Baby Boy!
Reese Witherspoon has given birth to a baby boy! According to People, the 36 year-old actress gave birth to her third child this morning, and his name is Tennessee James Toth.
“Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth welcomed Tennessee James into their family today,” a rep for the actress said. “Both mom and baby are healthy and the entire family is thrilled.”
Tennessee is Reese’s first baby with husband Jim Toth. (She has two children, Ava (13) and Deacon (8½) from her previous marriage to Ryan Philippe). Apparently, Reese and Jim started planning to expand their family from the get-go: an insider says that “Right after the wedding, Reese expressed a desire to have a baby with Jim. Reese has been very open with her kids about her plans to expand the family.” Reese kept her pregnancy a secret for a while, but by this spring she was showing off her bump to the world.
“My full-time job is being a mother,” Reese said in a June interview. “I like being home when they wake up, make their breakfast, take them to school, help them with their homework, and enjoying dinner, and putting them to bed. That’s my real job!” She also says that she’s slowed down her acting career on purpose; “As my children are getting a bit older, I feel it’s so important to be there with them as much as possible and be a good mother like my own mother was to me,” she explained. “I have very little enthusiasm to spend three or four months on film set and not be part of their lives or disrupt their education. It’s not fair to them and I also feel much happier being a mother and enjoying my life with my family.”
Congrats Reese! What do you think of the name Tennessee? We think it’s retro and adorable.
