Prince Harry Photo Scandal: Palace Not Suing
Prince Harry’s camp have decided not to press charges over his naked Vegas photos. Although it was thought of as an invasion of the royal’s privacy, the family’s lawyers have decided not to pursue the matter with the Press Complaints Commission (PCC). This was a different story with Kate Middleton’s topless photos, which saw the royal officials filing a criminal complaint.
“We remain of the opinion that a hotel room is a private space where its occupants would have a reasonable expectation of privacy,” stated a rep for the Palace. Prince Harry was photographed in his birthday suit while playing a game of naked billiards. The photos were taken by a phone camera.
The Palace states that Harry will put all his attention on his current deployment in Afghanistan “so to pursue a complaint relating to his private life would not be appropriate at this time and would prove to be a distraction.”
Prince Harry was deployed to Afghanistan in early September as a co-pilot and gunner on an Apache helicopter.
Reports say that he’s in constant contact with his brother Prince William, and that he’s been poking fun at the recent topless photos of Kate Middleton. William has been also been “keeping up Harry’s morale with jokey text messages.”
The PCC also stated that it would be inappropriate to open up an investigation without an formal complaint from Prince Harry.
Harry is pegged to serve a total of four months with his crew.
