Taylor Swift Calls John Mayer ‘Presumptuous’ (PHOTOS)
Taylor Swift graces the cover of Glamour magazine, and talks briefly about her breakup with John Mayer.
We can think of a few choice adjectives for John Mayer … Swift took part in a fun photo shoot while promoting her latest album Red. The first single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is her first No. 1 Billboard hit, but it isn’t this song that allegedly “humiliated” Mayer.
The 22-year-old songstress dated Mayer, 34, briefly in 2009 and her 2010 hit Dear John has been attributed to their breakup. “It made me feel terrible,” Mayer told Rolling Stone, “Because I didn’t deserve it.
["Dear John" is] cheap songwriting,” he added. “It’s abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, ‘Wait til he gets a load of this!’ That’s bulls–t.”
Swift was given the annotated version of his thoughts, and had this to say: “How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about.” The country crooner says she doesn’t want to know exactly what he said because she doesn’t have a tough skin when it comes to criticisms about her work.
“It’s not that I’m this egomaniac and I don’t want to hear anything negative, because I do keep myself in check … So I just kind of live a life, and I let all the gossip live somewhere else.”
Swift has now been dating Conor Kennedy for the past two months, while Mayer is reportedly linked to Katy Perry.
