John Cusack Gives Peter Gabriel Boombox “Say Anything”-Style at Hollywood Bowl Show (WATCH!)

Fans who attended Peter Gabriel’s show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Saturday October 6, 2012 experienced a once-in-a-lifetime treat: before the song “In Your Eyes,” John Cusack came onstage and gave Peter Gabriel a boombox, which the singer held up the way Cusack did in the classic 1989 film Say Anything.

Cameron Crowe, who directed the movie, was at the show and tweeted about the surreal moment: “Peter Gabriel and John Cusack on stage together at the Hollywood Bowl tonight. Won’t forget that… ever.” John tweeted back, “And I will never forget Cameron !,” adding, “If I were u I would follow @CameronCrowe and occasionally suggest we work together again – was so happy to see him last night at gabriel.”

Check out the video of John’s surprise cameo (and the song):

The epic moment happened quickly; it seemed as though Cusack didn’t want to take the spotlight away from Peter, who is performing on his “Back to Front” tour, marking the belated 25th anniversary of his 1986 solo album “So” (which features “In Your Eyes.”)

Wish I had been there!!
