Matthew McConaughey Weight Loss: Actor is Disturbingly Thin For Movie Role (PHOTOS)
What happened to Magic Mike?? According to People, Matthew McConaughey has been spotted without his muscles – or much else on his frame. The 42 year-old actor has lost 30 pounds for his upcoming role as an AIDS patient in 1980s period piece The Dallas Buyer’s Club.
Back in July, Matt was 15 pounds down and already looking lean when he appeared on Larry King’s Ora TV web series. “I should not look healthy by the time I’m doing this,” he said at the time, adding that, “It’s a bit of a spiritual cleanse, mental cleanse. [I'm] drinking a lot of tea…It takes a while for your body to understand that it has to feed off of itself and that you’re not going to give it something else from the outside.”
Also in July, Matt told Jon Stewart on The Daily Show that he was excited about the challenge of playing roles in both The Dallas Buyer’s Club and Killer Joe – “characters that I was a little bit scared of,” he said. “But I was excited to say, ‘I’m gonna dive in and come out the other side and figure out who that guy is.’”
Recently, Matt was so gaunt that he had to lean on his mother for support as he left a church in Austin, Texas. We’re intrigued by his upcoming role…but don’t disappear completely, Matt!
