Florida Governor Accidentally Gives Out Phone Sex Number Instead of Meningitis Hotline

Floridians who called a hotline for information about a Fungal Meningitis outbreak were greeted by a sultry woman thanking them for calling her on her anniversary, after Florida Governor Rick Scott mixed up the numbers for two very different hotlines.

As the Tampa Bay Times reports, it all began at a Florida Cabinet meeting, where Scott read out the number of what he believed to be a toll-free meningitis information hotline. The number he (mis)read was for a hotline, but not the one he had intended. It was for a phone sex hotline.

The Governor corrected his mistake later during the meeting, when he received a call from a local radio station that been informed of the error by an astute listener. Allegedly, the incorrect number did remain on the Florida Department of Health website for some time.

The real number (we promise), is 866-523-7339.
