High School Students Do Blackface Reenactment of Chris Brown Beating Rihanna at Pep Rally (PHOTO)

Hey, remember how hilarious it was when Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna? What if we re-enacted that brutal beating for a few laughs at the pep rally? Of course, we’ll have to make it realistic by performing in blackface.

This was, apparently, the reasoning behind an obscenely offensive skit performed by an all-white group of students at Waverly High School in upstate New York this week. The image above, taken by a former student at the high school who found the skit inappropriate, depicts a student portraying Chris Brown pretending to beat another student, who is acting as Rihanna, with an umbrella. Both have painted themselves with brown makeup.

The Daily Mail reports that the population of the village of Waverly is over 97 percent white.

This scene occurred at a homecoming pep rally, during which boys were vying for the title of “Mr. Waverly.” According to Matthew Dishler, the former student who posted the above picture on CNN’s iReport, the rally was attended by students, teachers, parents, and members of the community – and yet no one stopped the heinous display. In fact, it was met with cheers and laughter.

Incredibly, Dishler also claims that in order for it to have been performed at the pep rally, the skit would’ve had to be approved by a member of the faculty.

The skit is being called “racist” and “insensitive” – to put it mildly.
