I can’t decide what’s more annoying: the phrase “post-baby bod” (leave Jessica Simpson and Hilary Duff alone!) or the immediate pregnancy rumors that result from a celebrity sporting anything other than a concave stomach. Mila Kunis was recently spotted with beau Ashton Kutcher in a horizontally-striped tank top that floated away from her stomach – and was soon rumored to be pregnant.

Before you get excited about a mini-Mila, know that Mila’s rep has officially told RumorFix that the 29 year-old actress is “not pregnant.”

Back in June, Mila lamented to Glamour about the media’s endless criticism of her weight. “What was crazy was, when I was shooting ‘Black Swan,’ everyone was like, ‘Gosh, you’re really too skinny,’” she said. “Then my weight started bouncing back and they’re like, ‘She looked better when she was anorexic-looking.’ You can’t please anyone! It was just for work. I didn’t do it because I had issues. Now this is my normal weight that I started out with.”

Isn’t it funny how it’s completely inappropriate to ask a woman if she’s pregnant, but it’s somehow okay for us to speculate about baby bumps on the internet?

In 2011, How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan went through a similar ordeal when a certain photo sparked pregnancy rumors. She addressed fans directly on Twitter: “NO, I’m not pregnant! I just ate too much carnival food, that time of the month, hurt my back & couldn’t suck my gut in, & need 2 do cardio! And I’m NEVER gonna wear that shirt again! I do LOOK pregnant in that photo!”

I’m glad stars can take the ridiculous rumor mill in stride, but they shouldn’t have to. Can we chill with the automatic pregnancy rumors, people?
