Kelsey Grammer has offered an explanation for why he and wife Kayte brought their three-month old daughter to a wild Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion. In a statement to TMZ, Kelsey said, “Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted baby-sitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us.”

Kelsey, 57, denied reports that he and Kayte, 31, were partying until the wee hours of the morning. “The baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight,” he said, adding, “We love our child. Kayte is my wife and lady love (who is 31 and goes by the name Kayte Grammer, by the way, not Walsh).” Here’s where things go a little off the rails: Kelsey ended his statement with, “The world is round. All our eyes are blue. Happy Halloween and Cock-a-doodle-doo!”

Ummm…I got nothin’ for that.

I get the no sitter thing. But is it appropriate to bring an infant to a raging party with tons of booze? One Playboy Playmate says no; according to US Weekly, she tweeted, “Why the fk does Kelsey Grammer have a newborn baby at the Mansion party!?!?!?” Apparently, Kelsey’s ex Camille Grammer also disapproved of the move and re-tweeted TMZ’s original story. Then again, Camille had like four nannies on Real Housewives so maybe she doesn’t understand how tough it can be to balance parenthood with Playboy Mansion parties when you don’t have a nanny.

This isn’t exactly a new father mistake; Kelsey has five children and one grandchild.
