Dove Real Beauty ‘Sketches’ Parody for Men Is An Eye-Opener (VIDEO)

Like most people who watched the Dove Real Beauty Sketches video, I got a bit teary eyed when I watched it. It was disheartening to see how women see themselves, which is often in a much harsher light than how others see them.

As is the case with all viral videos, we knew a parody wasn’t far behind.

Enter: Dove Real Beauty Sketches for Men.

Where the original ad is evocative and touching, the Dove Real Beauty Sketches for Men is plain hilarious.

The set-up is the same, except for the addition of more dudes. The guys sit behind a screen and are asked to describe how they see themselves while a sketch artist draws their portrait using their self-descriptions.

Like the women of the original video, the men in the video have a drastically skewed perception of their appearance. But unlike the women from the Dove “Sketches” video, these dudes think they’re God’s gift to womankind. Sounds like another Saturday night at an overcrowded singles’ bar to me.

They’re also judged by women. Where one guy described his eyes as “abyss because they just don’t end,” a woman describes them as “kinda rapey.”

“Men, you’re less beautiful than you think,” reads the tagline. Compare that with Dove’s “You’re more beautiful than you think.”

Thanks parody-makers. This made my Friday.
