Could you live on $1.50 a day?

Ben Affleck and other celebs are going to try as part of the 2013 Live Below the Line challenge issued by The Global Poverty Project.

Ben, Sophia Bush, Josh Groban, Debi Mazar and others will live on $1.50 of food and drink a day to raise awareness about extreme poverty. Ben tweeted about the challenge:

Sophia Bush also spread the word:

It’ll be Josh Groban’s second time participating in the event. He was so inspired by his first experience that he even wrote the song “Below the Line” about it.

“It’s amazing how much we take for granted not having to live in hunger,” he said.

If you’d like to participate in Live Below the Line, here are the details. It’s not about fasting — it’s about learning exactly what you can buy with $1.50 a day.

“This is a challenge to eat creatively,” the website says. “Don’t at any point deprive yourself of three meals a day.”
