The phrase “No means no” might still be popular but its companion is climbing the charts. That new catch phrase is “Yes might also mean no.”

Tell me if this sounds familiar? A guy asks you if you’d like to do something. Nothing specific, just a general query to see if you want to meet up in the future. This might be via a text or conversation or maybe even Facebook. Now your first impulse is to think he wants to date you. And while that might be true, it might not be his sole interest. It might be just a casual thing, it might be just a networking thing, so – because you are curious – you say “Yes.”

In the meantime you start having second thoughts. Why the message online? Why the vague nature of the question? What does he really want? And finally, when he contacts you to firm something up (no pun intended) you bail. You don’t return his call, you don’t answer his message or – worse yet – you do and then just fail to show. You said “Yes” but then you say “No.”

This is what I’m calling “The Affirmative Blowoff” and it has become standard practice in the new male/female battlegrounds.  How do I know this? Because I’ve personally experienced it and heard NUMEROUS stories from other guys (and girls) who have also engaged in it.

So this is happening and it sucks on several levels.

Here’s why:

First - You ladies aren’t giving us a fair shake. By saying “yes” then “no” we get the feeling like we did something wrong. Please don’t make us feel bad for being interested. And if you are intimidated by any sexual tension, don’t be.  It is true that guys think about sex pretty much all the time, but meeting one of us out for a drink doesn’t require you to spread your legs in the bathroom. Nor are we expecting it. You are meeting up to talk – nothing more – and that’s what is expected. What happens from there is up to you and him. No guy (worth knowing) would expect anything other than civility and respect with a single meet-up.

Second - If you don’t want to hang out with the guy, please JUST SAY SO. Wild concept, huh? Sure saying that bluntly is awkward, but at least it sends a message and it avoids any mixed signals later. There’s very rarely a time when honesty isn’t the best thing.

It’s understandable that people second guess themselves. And people often say “yes” to avoid awkward conversations. Plus, with social networking, it is so much easier for a guy (or girl) to contact someone when they might not have the guts in person and then things again become murky.

But if you say “Yes,” mean it. If you say “No,” mean it. And if you change your mind, at least let them know. Please, just be honest. And if you can’t do that, at least cushion the blow. By saying “Yes” and not meaning it you come off like a hypocrite, or worse, a liar. We wouldn’t want “Yes” to make the list of  “Five Things Never to Say to a Guy.”

So change your ways and avoid “The Affirmative Blowoff.” It’s the first step in stopping a game that is just no fun for anyone.

The new trailer for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” hits theaters today, exclusively with the Vanessa Hudgens movie “Bandslam.”

A bootleg version of the trailer was online for a few hours this morning before Summit Entertainment took it down – they want you to go to the theater to see it. Well, Twirlit saw the trailer, and we’re here to tell you what’s in it.

“New Moon,” the second film in the “Twilight” series basically begins with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) leaving Bella (Kristen Stewart). She then spends a lot of her time with Jacob (Taylor Lautner). The first trailer for “New Moon” (embedded below) focused on that continuing story from the first movie but the new one focuses on Jacob.

(Warning, there are some spoilers below)

In fact, the trailer is based around an interview with Lautner as he describes the movie. It then shows scenes of him moving around motorcycles, shirtless of course, for Bella. His hand gently touching hers, his brooding fellow group of Native American Werewolves and even some werewolf action. It then ends with a montage of shots, some of which focus on Bella’s eventual trip to Italy to save Edward from a horrible fate.

So basically, this is definitely a Team Jacob trailer. Team Edward is not going to leave the theater very satisfied.

The trailer will certainly make its way online next week. Until then, though, the only way to see it is to buy a ticket to “Bandslam” or keep looking for bootleg versions on YouTube.

It was later rumored that Edwards had fathered Hunter’s newborn daughter though he publicly denied those claims.

Well, a day after the National Enquirer released a story that they had DNA proof that Edwards was the father, a news station in Edwards’ home state of North Carolina reports that Edwards will soon admit that he is indeed the father of the 18-month-old baby.

The reason for the admission, reportedly, is that there is an ongoing criminal investigation to see whether or not Edwards and his campaign paid Hunter to keep quiet about the affair. The new mother was seen walking into a Grand Jury inquisition last week where she spent 9 hours. Also up for questioning with the Grand Jury was former Edwards aide Andrew Young, who came out and said he was indeed the father of the baby.

Apparently though, that was because he got paid off too.

Wow – sounds like a whole bunch of trouble for Mr. Edwards. If this is all true of course.

Politicians make mistakes, it happens more often than not. But the worse thing they can do it lie about it and then come back and admit that you lied.

Unless, of course, you are Bill Clinton.

A few weeks ago, 61-year old front man Steven Tyler famously fell off a stage while performing in South Dakota. Now, a younger man might have popped right back up and continued the show. However, Tyler was pretty messed up and had to be rushed to the hospital. It came out later that he broke his shoulder and got 20 stitches.

Well, doctors have advised Tyler that dancing around on a stage and singing with a broken shoulder probably isn’t the best idea. And that means Aerosmith’s Summer tour has been canceled.

“Words can’t express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour,” guitarist Joe Perry said in the statement released to the press. He also said he hopes “”we can get the Aerosmith machine up and running again as soon as possible.”

If you have tickets to any of the remaining shows, which include Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and many more, refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

Obviously, we want Tyler to get better so that he can entertain us until he’s old and grey. Oh wait, he already is.

Everyone has had a fight with a significant other. But who has actually let it escalate to when one of the parties called 911?

Jon and Kate, that’s who!

TMZ reports that on Thursday night Jon and Kate Gosselin, the divorced stars of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” got into a very heated argument in their Pennsylvania home and that Kate called 911. The police showed up just before midnight, stayed for around 10 minutes, no arrests were made, and Kate went and checked into a local Days Inn.

Cross your fingers that the TLC cameras were rolling because that might help the show get out of the ratings free fall it’s currently in.

According to RadarOnline.com, the argument started when Kate showed up on a night she was not scheduled to watch the kids. Jon got upset, refused to let her in the house and Kate blew up at him, screaming about his alleged affairs. It didn’t help that one of Jon’s conquests, 23-year-old nanny Stephanie Santoro was on duty. 

Chances are, they won’t air anything like that though. The show has largely ignored the public perception of the couple and all the gossip surrounding them. Instead, it has focused this season on how the now separated couple have chose to raise their eight kids.

Saturday night on Showtime, for the first time in the history of the major Mixed Martial Arts organizations, two women will be the main event of a card. And more so, one of those women is Gina Carano, a beautiful undefeated fighter who was both on “American Gladiators” and a Maxim Magazine model. She’s like the Danica Patrick of MMA. (Or, if you need a male equivalent, think the Tom Brady, Michael Jordan or Alex Rodriguez of female fighting.) That’s because she encompasses everything that women aspire to be. Beautiful, smart, but also an ass kicker. She can walk a red carpet and walk all over your face.

She’ll be getting in the cage against a Brazilian woman named Cris “Cyborg” Santos. They’ll tussle over the 145 pound Female Championship.

How important is Saturday’s fight? As Yahoo Sports said, “There wouldn’t be a women’s fight on television, let alone headlining the card, if Carano weren’t involved. If Carano quit fighting tomorrow, though, she’d take women’s MMA down with her.”

So if you think women deserve equal time in the fast rising sport of Mixed Martial Arts, certainly put on Showtime at 10:30 EST Saturday. The face of female MMA demands it.

Instead, arguably the biggest movie star in the world appeared on the show to talk about how his charity, Make it Right, is having great success rebuilding houses in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. And also to address those rumors about him running for the mayor of New Orleans.

Pitt claimed that they’ve built, “the greenest neighborhood in the United States,” even though only 15 houses are done. He hopes 150 homes will be done by next year and bragged that when families are moving in, their bills will be minuscule because of the green construction.

Because of Pitt’s great success in New Orleans, there’s a grassroots movement hoping he’ll run for Mayor. Reporter Ann Curry pressed Pitt on the issue and he joked that, “I’m running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform. I don’t have a chance.”

But that’s not an answer, Brad, if you were nominated, would you seriously run for Mayor of New Orleans?

“Didn’t I just answer this? I don’t have a chance. It’s not what I do best,” he said.

Pitt’s new film, Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds” opens in theaters everywhere Aug. 21.

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” starts shooting this month in Vancouver and will be released June 30, 2010. It’s being directed by David Slade, who previously directed “Hard Candy” and “30 Days of Night.”

Moreno, a Colombian actress, was nominated for Best Actress in 2005 for the film “Maria Full of Grace.” She also starred in Richard Linklater’s “Fast Food Nation” and Steven Soderbergh’s “Che.”

In “Eclipse,” she will play Maria, a vampire who plays an important role in the flashback for Jasper Cullen, played by Jackson Rathbone. During the Civil War, she and Jasper recruit an army of vampires.

She’ll join “Twilight” newcomers Bryce Dallas Howard, Xavier Samuel and Jack Huston as well as series regulars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and others.

It’s no wonder all these stars want to be part of the “Twilight” phenomenon. The first film won 11 Teen Choice Awards earlier this week and the second one, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” will be released November 20. The final trailer for the film will be in theaters this weekend attached to the Vanessa Hudgens film “Bandslam.”

Kourtney, the sister of Kim Kardashian, who has a new spin off show called “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” premiering Sunday on E!, is due in December according to People Magazine. The father is Scott Disick who Kourtney described as “my ex-boyfriend … who is now my boyfriend” on “The Today Show.”

Kourtney is the eldest of the Kardashian sisters and she made a name for herself on the reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Much like her sisters, their claim to fame is their good looks, incredible connections and semi-famous step-father Bruce Jenner.

“We were in the Everglades and I kept feeling nauseous and sick,” Kourtney told E! about how she realized she was pregnant. “I just kept thinking something wasn’t right. I went to the doctor and he confirmed the news. I was just so shocked.”

If she really was shocked, it was probably because of the incredible timing. “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” features her and her younger sister opening a store in Miami. The timing of her pregnancy is perfect because she can come out and announce it and, at the same time, mention the show.

The Hollywood couple were engaged last year and while rumors had been swirling that they’d tied the knot, the couple made it official appearing at a fundraising party in Malibu that Faris was hosting.

Pratt, who stars in the show “Parks and Recreations” and recently appeared in the Angelina Jolie movie “Wanted”, is probably best known for his stint on “Everwood” and as a college tree hugger on “The OC.”

Faris, of course, needs no introduction but we’ll give her one anyway. She has had an extremely successful and varied Hollywood career even at the young age of 32. She got her star in the successful “Scary Movie” series, proved she could do drama with “Lost in Translation” and “Brokeback Mountain,” did the TV thing with stints on “Friends” and “Entourage” and even proved she could be a leading lady with last year’s comedy “The House Bunny.” Next up, she’ll provide her voice to “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” as well as the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” sequel.

Last year, Faris told People Magazine about Pratt: “He’s awesome. He’s a great, great guy. I feel really lucky.”

This is her second marriage and Pratt’s first.

Even at the age of 68, Neil Diamond can still sell out shows and have the hottest ticket in town. If you are one of those fans who hasn’t been able to see Diamond, or maybe you have and you just want more, the legendary singer is releasing a concert DVD on Friday timed with a television special.

“Hot August Night/NYC” will be released in Walmart stores on Friday and an hour long TV special featuring exerpts from the DVD as well as footage shot at Diamond’s home, will air at 8 p.m. Friday on CBS, according to the Associated Press.

The concert was shot last year when the man behind hits like “Sweet Caroline,” “America” and “Heartlight” performed live at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

In the AP interview, Diamond said that he had always wanted to tape a concert but “just never got to it.” He felt that his hometown of New York was the perfect setting.

The pairing of the DVD release with a TV show marks Diamond’s first special in two decades.

“This is my first TV special in over 20 years, so I feel my heart beating a little faster. It’s exciting,” he said. “I’m happy to still be here and doing it after all these years.”

Daytime television isn’t usually known for hard pressing questions. It’s usually nothing more than a glorified puff piece. So when a host asks an interesting question, it makes news.

Regis Philbin has done just that when talking to “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ star Kate Gosselin, who is making the media rounds in New York City. While taping an interview Tuesday, Philbin just came out and asked her if she thought she and Jon would ever get back together, according to the New York Daily News.

Probably taken off guard because of an army of protective publicists, Kate fumbled before answering, “I can’t and won’t answer that. I keep certain things private, and that’s one.”

Why Kate? You are on television doing interviews and this is what people want to know? It’s a legitimate question, you can’t give an honest answer?

Well, Regis decided to throw back his – admittedly uneducated – opinion.

“I think you [and your husband] will get back together and live happily ever after,” Philbin said. “I think everything is going to work itself out — he’ll say he’s sorry, that he loves you and everything will be good.”

The show then went to commercial with an apparently shocked Kate.

Maybe that second part was inappropriate but Regis was just being positive. It just so happens he decided to ignore that Jon has been seen across the globe with various different women while she was home with eight kids.

Vampires are known for their love for blood. Well, the latest vampire to join the ‘Twilight’ saga has some royal blood himself.

Jack Huston, the grandson of legendary director John Huston and nephew of actors Anjelica and Danny Huston, has been cast as Royce King II for the third film, “Eclipse,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the “Twilight” books, Royce King II is the former fiance of Rosalie Cullen (played by Nikki Reed in the movies) who lived during the Great Depression. Without spoiling too much for people who haven’t read the books, basically he is semi-responsible for her becoming a vampire and was not a very pleasant person.

Huston joins the ranks of brooding males in the “Twilight” saga along side Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz and Cam Gigendet. “Eclipse” begins shooting very soon in Vancouver and is scheduled to come out June 30, 2010. It’s being directed by David Slade.

But the real question everyone wants to know, and by everyone I mean the ladies, is does Huston have a girlfriend? Rumors are that he’s been dating “So You Think You Can Dance” host Cat Deeley.

The admission was made because the woman in question, Karen Cunagin Sypher, has been trying to blackmail Pitino for money and goods. She was finally charged with extortion in April and Pitino had to admit the truth as part of the case.

According to police records found by the Louisville Courier-Journal, Pitino had sex with the Sypher in a Louisville restaurant in 2003 and later met with her to discuss the fact that she got pregnant. He paid her $3,000 for the operation. Later she came out with rape allegations and Pitino denied it.

Sypher, who later married one of Pitino’s employee’s, Louisville strength coach Tim Sypher, would send demands to the head coach through her husband. It began with college tuition for her kids, two cars, money to pay off her house and $3,000 per month, according to ESPN. Later, the demand increased to an even $10 million.

Pitino is one of the most decorated coaches in college basketball history at both Louisville and the University of Kentucky. He was a pretty solid NBA one as well, coaching both the Celtics and the Knicks.

And despite his obvious bad choices in the past, the fact is Pitino has done nothing illegal and his lawyer told ESPN that he won’t be taking a leave of absence from coaching.

“I can’t see any reason why the coach would take a leave of absence for being victimized by a woman like this,” Steve Pence said. “He doesn’t deserve to be punished for something he hasn’t done. I can see no reason why he would take a leave of absence when he was being extorted. He has done nothing illegal.”

Lisa Wu-Hartwell who is married to former Oakland Raiders linebacker Edgerton Hartwell were forced to leave their Atlanta mansion last week after they defaulted on a loan, the bank foreclosed and sold it out from under their noses, according to documents found by TMZ.

A source told the gossip website that while the could bought the house for $2.9 million in 2007, it was only resold for $1.9 million this year. That’s a huge loss in value and when the couple tried to refinance, that difference was a big problem.

Despite leaving that house, a representative for the couple told TMZ, “”Ed and Lisa are fine. They have settled in their [new] home, that sits on 10 acres and they OWN it!”

The Hartwells are the third couple from the reality show to face such financial woes. Last season, NeNe Leakes was evicted from her home after not paying rent and this season, Sheree was forced out of her home when she realized her ex-husband had stopped paying the mortgage.

Of course, drama like this is why people tune into shoes like “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” so fans love it. But it’s pretty much guaranteed that the people in question don’t.

The 27-year-old and her fiance David Otunga welcomed a 7 lbs., 14 oz. baby boy named David Daniel Otunga Jr. on Monday. For the past nine months, the performer has kept mum that she was pregnant but it was pretty obvious last month when she appeared to sing at the Michael Jackson Tribute that she was expecting.

“The baby is beautiful and perfect,” Hudson’s rep Lisa Kasteler told People Magazine. “His parents are ecstatic.”

It’s a welcome blessing for Hudson who has had to ride a public and terrible emotional roller coaster over the last few years.

In 2004, she competed on “American Idol” and became a national celebrity because of her bubbly, confident personality and pipes of gold. She then took a role in the film “Dreamgirls” in 2006. As Effie White, Hudson was able to use that personality and singing prowess to craft an amazing performance that garnered her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.

However, after all that personal triumph, tragedy struck. In late 2008, her mother, brother and sister were murdered in Chicago. And though authorities think they found the killer, Hudson understandably went into seclusion. She came back into the public eye at in February 2009 at Super Bowl XLIII where she sang the Star Spangled Banner.

And, just doing simple math, around that time was when she and her fiance conceived. So it seems young David came into the world just when his mommy needed him the most.

The memories are endless. Eminem waving to the fans, the Jonas Brothers shutting down traffic. Blocks and blocks closed for the Backstreet Boys and so many more. Well, MTV’s 2nd floor glass studio that was most famously used for “Total Request Live” will soon be no more.

The New York Post exclusively reports that Viacom, which owns MTV, didn’t renew the lease for that studio space when it renewed several floors of office space in New York’s Times Square. So while the MTV offices will remain at 1515 Broadway, that space is about to hit the open market and it’s estimated that its worth has increased ten fold since it was originally leased in 1997.

“We’re taking it back from MTV at end of year,” SL Green Leasing Director Steven Durels said to the Post. “We’re actively marketing it, and we think it will be the crowning touch of the retail development we’ve done since we bought the building.”

When MTV’s TRL ended in November 2008, it marked the end of a decade plus of music memories in the space. Now, however, the channel doesn’t have as much need for the studio.

The studio, which measures 22,216-square-feet, also comes with the space below it, currently used for an MTV store. The prices are astronomical – an estimated $450 a square foot for the studio and a $1,000 a square foot for the 1,624-square-foot space at street level, which adds up to $11.6 million per year in rent.

In today’s economy, it makes sense to cut off that amount of money if it’s not being used. But still – for those of us who put on MTV at 4 p.m. when we got home from school, it’s a sad day.

Twenty years of country music history is about to come to a halt as Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn posted a message on their Web site announcing they would break up after a 2010 tour.

“After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it’s time to call it a day. This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed…. We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don’t believe them, it’s just time. We will release our #1’s and then some” on September 8th and bid you farewell one last time in 2010, with The Last Rodeo Tour.”

In 1990, Brooks and Dunn, separately, were struggling country artists. Record executive Tim DuBois urged them to join forces and together, they have since had 10 studio albums and 23 Number 1 hits including  “Boot Scootin’ Bootie.” “My Maria,” and “Red Dirt Road.”

Every year between 1992 and 2006 save for one, Brooks and Dunn won the Country Music Association’s vocal duo of the year award. They received that honor because while they were country musicians at heart, they brought in all types of influences and always kept their music fresh.

While the retirement is common place in music, so is the reunion, so while Brooks and Dunn have made this decision now, chances are, it’s not going to stick.

Naked photos of the 22-year-old “Twilight” actress appeared on gossip Web sites across the Internet Monday afternoon, much in the vein of Vanessa Hudgens before her. And just like in that case, all sites were contacted by Greene’s lawyers and asked to remove them.

“The photos in question, which appear to be of our client, are illegal and are being unlawfully displayed,” said a statement released by her lawyer. “Our client intends to take legal action.”

That would tend to prove that the photos were real, wouldn’t it?

Greene is best known for playing Alice Cullen – the logical, vampire sister of Edward Cullen – in the “Twilight” saga. Before that, her biggest role was a small arc in a show called “Desire,” that aired on MyNetworkTV in 2006. So basically, “Twilight” was her big break. And what a break it was.

The film, based on the first of a series of super popular novels by Stephanie Meyer, made almost $70 million in its first weekend and ended up with about $380 million world wide. It pretty much swept the Teen Choice Awards Sunday (airing Monday) with 11 wins including Choice Movie Drama and Romance.

“I wasn’t invited to stuff last year, so to be nominated for the most awards this year … [I] never would have dreamed it,” Greene told MTV about the Teen Choice Awards.

Chances are, she never dreamed what happened after, either.

The awards show airs Monday night on FOX so if you plan on watching, run away now, as we are going to spoil several of the awards. Twilight, the film based on the vampire novel by Stephanie Meyer, was the big winner with a whopping eleven awards. It took home (take a deep breath here) choice movie drama, romance, liplock, rumble, soundtrack, movie drama actress (Kristen Stewart), movie drama actor and male hottie (Robert Pattinson), male and female movie fresh faces and movie villain.

“We’ll see you guys in theaters November 20th,” Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob, said to the crowd referring to the second film, New Moon.

The second big winner was Miley Cyrus, who took home six awards including comedy TV show and actress for Hannah Montana; music/dance movie actress and hissy fit for Hannah Montana: The Movie; music single for “The Climb” and summer song for “Before the Storm” which she sings with the Jonas Brothers – who were also the hosts of the show.

Besides the awards, one of the biggest stories to come out of the show was the red carpet exploits of Kathy Griffin who brought the 19-year-old Levi Johnston as her date. Read about that here.

It’s a busy day in the world of Michael Jackson.

World Awards Media GmbH, an events promoter, confirmed to the Associated Press Monday that a “high-profile lineup of international stars” will join family members in a tribute concert at the Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria next month.

“For one incredible night Michael Jackson’s unforgettable music will be brought to life again,” World Awards Media posted on its Web site. “Some of the world’s leading artists will perform Michael’s greatest hits live in Vienna in front of one of the most fascinating historical sites in Europe and celebrate the life of the ‘King of Pop.’”

The Hollywood Reporter is also reporting that Jackson’s “This is It” tour, which the King of Pop was in the process of rehearsing for when he passed away, might still make it to the stage. According to the trade, the sets are still at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the director of the show – Kenny Ortega – wants people to see it. Apparently, they are discussing moving it to a Las Vegas casino and setting it up as a permanent installation.

People are going to get to see the tour either way, though. Monday also marked the official approval to let the film based on the “This Is It” tour to be released as a movie, according to the Associated Press. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved the deal between AEG Live and Columbia Pictures to release the film, featuring the final footage of Jackson rehearsing for the tour, on Oct. 30.

All of this news, which celebrates Jackson, is in stark contrast to the possible admission today to TMZ that Mark Lester is the real father of Michael’s daughter Paris.

Even in his death, Michael Jackson can’t get out of the news.

Specifically, he thinks her background in pop music, dancing and reality television lends itself to his big reality show, “Dancing with the Stars”

“We would love to have her on ‘Dancing,’ as a contestant, a participant or a judge. I think she’s a huge talent,” McPherson told MTV News. “I think there’s a lot made of her in terms of who she is. … There’s a sensitivity and an emotion to her that balances out ‘Idol,’ and we’d love to have a piece of that.”

He was “shocked” to hear that Abdul was leaving FOX’s “American Idol” and said he spoke with her after and Abdul was in good spirits.

In a news sense though, most important is that even if he wants her on the show, there have been no contract talks yet. “We have no formal plans,” McPherson said. “I think all possibilities are open. Really, it will depend on where her head is at.”

Either way, he’s going to have some competition.

Nigel Lythgoe is the executive producer of both “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance” and feels like, even though Abdul left his one show, maybe he can get her on his second.

“I’ve offered her a judge/choreographer [position] ever since season one, but of course, [Fox] said, ‘No, no, we can’t have her judging ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and ‘American Idol,’ ” Lythgoe said. “So now, if she remains free from ‘Idol,’ she’s got no excuse.”

Someone should tell Kathy Griffin that just because it’s the Teen Choice Awards doesn’t mean you choose your own teen. The comedian, 48, brought Levi Johnston, 19 as her date to the awards show that airs Monday night. Of course Johnston is the ex-fiance of Bristol Palin, daughter of former Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. He’s also the father of Bristol’s son, Tripp and has been attempting to make a name for himself for the past several months, appearing all over television and in magazines discussing the Palin family.

That, of course, makes him the perfect choice for the self proclaimed “D-List” celebrity and star of the Bravo show “My Life on the D-List” to bring as her date. He gets his publicity and she gets to mess with people’s heads. “I just, you know, look at her, shut up and do what I’m told,” Johnston told the New York Daily News in what was apparently a very self-aware, joking tone. Griffin went even further with the gag, suggesting they had been dating for a while but there was one major obstacle in their relationship.

“Long-distance relationships are not easy, especially when he’s in his igloo and I’m in my Hollywood tower,” said Griffin.

“I feel like every morning I wake up and there’s a new rumor.” That’s how Kate Gosselin began her exclusive interview with Meredith Viera Monday on NBC’s “The Today Show.” The mother of eight and co-star of TLC’s popular “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ was on the show to talk about what is really going on with her life which, recently in the press, has been dominated by stories of her ex-husband Jon Gosselin’s many exploits.

In response to Jon’s exploits with the other ladies, Kate was very short in her responses. “Clearly, his goals are not my goals,” she said to a question about him dating other women. “They’re his decisions,” was her answer to another question. “They might not be the ones that I would make.”

She admitted that, while she still loves the Jon she once knew, she thinks this would have happened with or without a television show to make them so famous.

She addressed other rumors as well. She doesn’t have a condo in Maryland and she’s not dating Steve Neild.

“There is no affair, there never has been an affair,” she said. “He’s one of our rotating security people. It’s just another crazy rumor. It sells tabloids.”

Kate was extremely upset that her brother and his wife are trying to make money on their relation to the couple and finally addressed why she still wears her wedding ring even though she’s divorced.

“For them,” she said with a tear, addressing her eight children. “I don’t want to upset them. While I’ve been very real and as honest as I need to be, I don’t want to shock them. I’ve walked slowly through this with them. When they’ve asked questions, I’ve answered them.”
